Usage Guide

This guide covers the primary workflows within the AlphaSwarm Operator UI (alphaswarm_client).

The AlphaSwarm UI is organized into logical hubs to minimize clutter and streamline the quant research and execution workflow.

1. Workspace

  • Dashboard: High-level overview of system health, active runs, and portfolio performance.
  • Live Trading Desk: Real-time monitoring and control of active trading bots.
  • Action Center: Centralized "kill switch" and global override controls.
  • Chat / Assistants: Interactive LLM-driven interfaces for data exploration and strategy ideation.

2. Agents

The Agents section (nav group Agents) is the central hub for all agentic operations.

  • Agent Hub: A unified catalog where you can discover and launch Research and Analysis agents.
  • Dashboard: Track active agent runs, costs, and token usage.
  • Registry: View and configure AgentSpec definitions.
  • Runs: Detailed logs and step traces for past and current agent dispatches.

3. Research & Data

  • Strategies: Manage strategy lifecycle from ideation to backtesting.
  • Data Workspace: The primary interface for data discovery, exploration, and visualization.
  • Data Pipelines: Monitor and configure Airbyte and Streaming (Kafka/Flink) ingestions.
  • Factor Workbench: Dedicated environment for alpha factor research.

4. Lab (ML & RL)

  • Strategy Development: A consolidated IDE for authoring and simulating strategies.
  • Backtests: Manage and compare large-scale backtest runs.
  • ML / RL Training: Monitor model training and browse the Model Zoo.

5. Platform Control Plane

The Platform Hub (under System) provides a unified view of the underlying infrastructure:

  • Overview: Global infrastructure health.
  • Bots & Queues: Monitor Celery workers and bot fleet status.
  • K8s Explorer: Live view of Kubernetes pods and resources (when running in K8s).
  • Terraform: IaC workspace management and run logs.

Common Workflows

Discovering and Running an Agent

  1. Navigate to Agents > Agent Hub.
  2. Select a category (e.g., Research).
  3. Click on an agent persona (e.g., News Miner).
  4. Fill in the required parameters (e.g., vt_symbol or universe).
  5. Click Run synchronously to start the invocation and see live results.

Monitoring Infrastructure

  1. Navigate to System > Platform.
  2. Use the tabs to switch between Overview, Queues, and K8s Explorer.
  3. Use the Canary tab to manage traffic weight during frontend rollouts.
